I picked up a handbag from a brand called Jenkins & Power that was incredibly adorable, made with hand-printed leather and a big grosgrain bow. It was pricey for the market, but cheap in the outside world, and I rather love it. I also got two books for £5 at a stall selling some really great titles for bargain bin prices.
There was plenty of vintage and cheap jewelry, along with ironic T-shirts and such oddities as giant potpourri-stuffed hens. The place seemed rife with good finds, and if I lived in London, I'd make it a regular stop.
I would definitely recommend it to tourists in town on a Sunday - when we asked our concierge whether the Spitafields Market was worth attending, he responded, "Absolutely. That is absolutely what you should do today." He was absolutely right."

"I can't believe only one person has reviewed this diamond prior to me! The market is a must for some lazy Sunday afternoon bargain hunting!
This market is 21st century retro! A Banksy loving, chic hippie, fusion food, fashion haven for you to enjoy and revisit. The market consists of a mixture of old style stalls and modern stores in an enclosed square, just off Liverpool st.
World food stalls share their space with global food chains such as GBK and Wagamama. 30 year old beat up, weed smelling, leather jackets are sold beside brand-new handwoven babies clothes with "The Ramones" stitched into.
Old Spitalfield market is a "now and then" "old and new" contrast in every essence. Emo kids shop beside ageing Mods, Cool chic London fashionistas sell their new creations next to second hand bargain vintage clothes merchants, prices are low, cool finds are high.
You will be sure to pick up some used and new bargains within the stalls and shops here (stalls only on Sundays)."

"Was here on a Sunday morning after a night out. Only spent a few minutes in the place but got a quick walk around.
Bought a great coffee and chocolate cookie before I started and happily walked around taking in all the stalls and traders had to offer.
Some really nice foods, arts and crafts pieces. Everything from unusual music, rugs, painting, jewelery, clothes etc.
Will definitely call back when I have more time to spend and would happily recommend it for a pleasant afternoon out. Bound to find something to spend your hard earned cash on that will be a little bit different."
Also has boutiques and established businesses in the building surrounding the market which also looked nice."
