Old Spitalfields Market Announces Events Calendar

Old Spitalfields Market has announced its next three months of exciting events that will be held at the historic shopping venue during July, August and September 2011. They are:


July 2011
29th July: 1pm, Fashion Friday - Best of British Summer
Come along to see all the latest Best of British trends on the catwalk.  All the pieces showcased will be available to purchase on site. Traders featured include: Yull Shoes, who describe their creations as being ‘Style over fashion’; Bugsy Pants who make gorgeous bikini's all year round and the ethical women’s clothing brand Annie Greenabelle. Models from Old Spitalfields Market’s Dolly Dare and Jigsaw are also expected to make an appearance on the catwalk show.

August 2011
10th, 11th, 12th & 14th August: 11am – 5pm, Great Taste Market
The Great Taste Market is a fantastic opportunity for foodies to see, taste and buy quality artisan produce made by the winners of the prestigious Great Taste Award.
If you enjoy fine food and drink then the Great Taste Market is not to be missed

20th August - Vans Downtown Showdown 2011
Old Spitalfields Market will host the Vans Downtown Showdown for its third edition of the now legendary International Skateboarding Contest. Twelve of the best skate teams will take part to test skill, flare and creativity. The event will take place on special customised ramps, which are designed by the invited Teams.

29th August- – 11am, Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fashion Fair
Back on Bank Holiday Monday Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair will be providing vintage fans with affordable vintage clothing, home wares and accessories.  Now the largest vintage fair of its kind serving 23 cities it has been hailed by the national press as a ‘shopping phenomenon’

September 2011
1st – 16th September- Shoreditch Unbound Festival
Celebrating the launch of the new book ‘Shoreditch Unbound.’ Old Spitalfields Market will host two weeks of events and experiences quite unlike anything seen before. The Festival will also host a fashion show, music events, cabaret nights, talks, workshops and ‘salons’ hosted by designers, creators and artists involved in The Shoreditch Unbound project.

22nd – 28th September – Origin
Following its successful integration into the London Design Festival last year, Origin: The Contemporary Craft Fair will return to Old Spitalfields Market featuring over 200 makers in a purpose-built pavilion – all selected by a distinguished panel representing the world of galleries, retail, craft consultancy, design and journalism.
