The Cream of Jewellery Talent Lined Up for JewelEast Event
Spitalfields, London, UK – London Jewellery Week and Old Spitalfields Market have lined up the cream of Europe’s jewellery talent for their week-long JewelEast event that is set to take place at Old Spitalfields Market between the 6th and 12th June 2011.

Free to members of the public, the event will showcase exciting new jewellery designers, costume and vintage jewellery and feature workshops, demonstrations and a catwalk event.
On Monday 6th June, Solitaire Gemmological Laboratories will be offering a free diamond jewellery grading and certification service, which includes information on clarity, colour, shape and product type.
Mah Rana will also be at hand, complete with a photo booth to continue her work with Meanings and Attachments, an on-going written and photographic record of people’s personal connections to the jewellery that they wear.
Current students and past graduates from Holts Academy will exhibit their work and host workshops where members of the public can discover how jewellery is made – getting the opportunity to participate in making their very own items of jewellery under the tutelage of master craftsmen (payment will be required for certain activities).
Jewellery lovers will be able to meet all of the designers that are showcasing their fabulous creations and gain an insight into their inspiration.
Just some of the brands and designers attending JewelEast will include:
Brandts Jewellery - designed and hand-made by Ayshe Brandts in London, Brandts Jewellery uses gemstones, freshwater pearls, and precious metals. Inspired by the patterns found in nature, her mission is to create sublime jewellery inspired by current trends in fashion and design, at a fair price.
Chiffons et Breloques (C&B) - offers a distinctive collection of chic vintage accessories for the complete look. Inspired by vintage unique designs, ethical fashion and creative photography, C&B’s finely crafted fashion accessories are for women who want to feel beautiful and unique.
Glacier Jewellery - Fine jewellery with excellent craftsmanship using beautiful semi-precious stones.
Jewel Heritage - create unusual, obscure and more than often, dark and sinister pieces of jewellery. With their motto ‘designed for the individual not the masses’ Jewel Heritage will continue their journey into madness inviting you all into their world with each collection.
Samantha Braund Jewellery - Samantha’s jewellery creations follow an organic, freeform style, using precious metals to enhance and embellish gemstones. Methods employed, can range from ancient wire-wrapping techniques, which date back to 7000BC, through to sculpting in modern art media.
Decadorn – is an online bazaar selling unique and striking statement jewellery.
The products are carefully sourced from around the world, bringing an eclectic mix of Bohemian treasures. Combining inspiration from worldwide travel and the relaxed Boho style, Decadorn has sourced and created an earthy collection with a Gypsy-rocker edge.
Vlum – direct from Paris, Vlum offers stunning contemporary designs, fashioned from nylon thread, woven like a net and heat-sealed into different sizes, shapes and colours - including iridescent and glowing effects. As light as a feather, the jewels are so comfortable that the wearer can forget they’ve got them on.
Voodoo Design - Livia Lazzari’s designs spring up from the need to free jewellery from the classical sense of valuable object, linked to the use of precious and expensive material, providing it with a new sort of metropolitan, strong and rebellious character.
Old Spitalfields Market is a short walk from Liverpool Street and Aldgate East Tube Stations. For further information on the week’s events, please visit www.jewelEast.co.uk
